The Visiting Fellowship at Edinburgh lasts a semester for 3-6 months. Candidates for the visiting fellowship must be ready to contribute to innovative research in one of the six core areas of EFI. Successful Fellows receive £1,500 bursary and repayment for visa and travel expenses.

  • Have a plan to develop an idea to secure a grant proposal, where a visit to the Futures Institute contributes to the development of the proposal
  • Connect with a researcher or staff in a similar research area at Edinburgh who will act as your academic sponsor.

Applications without a Sponsor will not be processed.

The EFI fellowship applicants are for individuals with open-ended positions in an institution. PhD students are not eligible to apply for the visiting fellowship
