    About The NBA HBCU Fellowship For Students and Graduates

    The NBA Foundation is in charge of the NBA HBCU Fellowship. The Foundation is a non-profit established to empower the black community economically. The organisation funds programs that enable black youth to learn skills to successfully move from school and gain employment opportunities for career development. 30 NBA teams funded the organisation’s programs at first.

    NBA foundation capacity-building programs empower black youth for job readiness, career advancement, job placement and skill training. The foundation provides funding to support organizations that address challenges and disparities in Black communities with regards to employment, income and education.

    The NBA and its 30 teams use their collective resources and platforms to increase partnerships with Black-owned and managed businesses. Since the inception of the NBA Foundation, the organisation has provided over $100 million in grant support to over 240 businesses in NBA markets. HBCU Fellows receive a warm welcome alongside a two-day orientation program at the NBA offices.

    Applicants for the NBA NBCU must meet the following criteria

    • Be eligible to work in the US
    • Work full-time for 10 weeks within the program time frame (From June 9 to August 15)
    • Be above 18 years before June 4, 2025

    • Click on the “My Participation Page” to see the current opportunities and make a choice
    • Upload the digital version of your work samples, 300 dots and 2.5cm height photo of yourself, and the accurate email addresses of three referees
    • Since the application form is lengthy you can return as many times to complete your application before the deadline
    • Once you have completely filled out the form, click on complete and save it. This action submits your application and prompts your refrees with instruction on how to fill the reference form
